FUTURES
PROGRAM
COLLEGE & WORKPLACE READINESS
This program, which is offered in partnership with schools who enroll students in Early College and/ or Innovation Career Pathways programs, provides a suite of micro-internships, stackable career credentialing programs, mentoring opportunities, and career-readiness training for high school students that address the barriers Black and Latinx students in Springfield face in regional employment markets.
The Futures team is proud to partner with the Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) to operate REALWork (Racial Equity and Access Lab) at Discovery High School. REALWork builds on the critical work of Early College, by providing career counseling and skills training that allow students to develop familiarity in the industry of their choice, while accessing salaries at a living wage now and investing in lucrative careers later.
